Waterfalls Extras Anyone?

Hello-- Does anyone have any extra of the first sock yarn in the club-- the Miss Babs Waterfalls? I am really short-- like 3/4 of a foot short. I changed patterns and thought I would have enough. Boy was I wrong. I love the first sock to much to rip out so I thought I would see if anyone has any extras.

I have a lot of other yarns-- see Ravelry- littlepeeps or shoot me an email at jwagner3 at twcny dot rr dot com if you would be interested in trading or selling.

Thank you and Happy Holidays

November Sock!

Oh my goodness!  I started the November sock today at about 4:30 and I couldn't stop.  It is almost 2 am now and I had to make myself walk away.  I am about 3 rows into the heel flap.  The little bobble (is there a name for this stitch?) took me a couple of tries to figure out and is making my hands hurt and I don't even care.  Must keep knitting.  I would love to see more photos of people's Irish Dreams Socks!   What a fun pattern and what beautiful yarn.  Sorry if this is a bit scattered . . . as I said, I have been knitting this sock for almost 10 hours.

December Sock Club Shipment

Hi Everyone! I hope by now that the majority of you have received your December sock club packages! Some of the international ones may not have arrived yet, but hopefully this coming week! So, I won't disclose too much information here for those of you who haven't received your packages, however, I do want to mention that everyone is receiving the same package. If you are missing a tape measure (as someone mentioned they were?), please do email me right away and I will get that out to you! I'm sorry if you didn't receive that in your package!

The next sock club package is scheduled to ship out in early February, and I'm especially excited for this one for several reasons, all of which need to remain a secret until you receive your shipments! :)

There is a special notice in your boxes about renewing your membership in the sock club for 2008. Please remember that you will need to email me no later than December 31st if you would like to renew your membership - after that point the memberships open up to the rest of the knitting community.

Happy Knitting and Happy Holidays!

All packages are supposed to be the same, right?

Stariel had posted to my blog that her kit didn't have a tape measure in it. All our kits should be the same, right? Just thought I'd ask...

My Favorite

This shipment is far and away my favorite! I may have to get more of this colorway--it is gorgeous! Thanks, Jen!

I got mine, too!

I had also forgotten the shipment was coming, too! So far, there has not been a colorway I have not loved nor a pattern I have not wanted to knit immediately (though I have managed to resist casting on...)

Thanks so much for such and awesome club, Jen!

For me?

Dear Jen,
I love you and the Christmas present you sent me. Sure the present is really the next sock club shipment, but I'd forgotten that a package was coming in December. The box behind my screen door was a surprise and I briefly wondered if I'd started ordering sock yarn in my sleep (God help us all if that happened). The box was greedily ripped into and there was much cooing with delight at the yarn color. Then the final test, a good long yarn sniff. Best... sniff... ever.

Socks in Trees

Holidays are great, especially when they give you lots of time to knit! I'm still benefiting from being young enough that my mother-in-law does all the cooking on Thanksgiving. The in-laws also have a pretty backyard with lots of trees to take sock pictures. They think I'm a bit crazy, but they don't tease me about it too much.
Here's sock number one progress on Sunday. I just kitchenered the toe on this sock today, but can't take a good picture in my dark apartment. The yarn stripped nicely around the leg but I had some pooling on the foot. My stitch gauge is a bit off which may have caused that. Still a very pretty sock. :)

Pattern Errata for the Nov. Sock Shippment?

Just wanted to post this here and I also posted it over at RAVELRY. Is there an error in the patten? I cant see doing the p3tog stich in the leg portion with out any increases to compensate for it. It seems the leg is going to get smaller as we knit in pattern down the leg, or maybe I am missing something with this? Is anyone else confused or is it just me?

Sock finds mate

Hooray a new pair of socks! I finally put down my Christmas knitting and finished the second sock in 2 days. Thanks Jen for introducing me to a new yarn that I really like. Woolgirl sock club shipment number two showed up on Monday. Opening that sock club box is like Christmas morning. The funny thing was that I thought the yarn was completely different colors, until today when I saw it in natural light. Much prettier in the sunshine than my super dark apartment. :)

OOOOOHHHHLAAALAAAA

OK, so that's a French phrase but I can't think of a better way to describe my feelings for this well thought out package. I love every bit of it from the color of the yarn, gauge and all the wonderful extras. Jen you are awsome and just becaue of this, I just had to join The Seven Deadly S(p)ins club that will start in March 2008. It doesn't get any better than this!!!! Or does it??????

Jen you have gone above and beyond and I thank you for it.

Just for Me?!

I feel like the November package was made just for me! Seriously Jen, you rock!! Thank you so much!! Love love love it!!

xoxo Carrie aka Irishgirlieknits ;)

Hint

My new yarn smells like lavender. mmmmmmmm . . . .

November package

Wow. That's all I can say about the colorway for the November yarn. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't name specifics. But I would never have combined these colors. Despite that, this could be my single favorite skein of yarn EVER!!! I want to frame it and stare at it all day. I cannot wait to get home from work and cast on.

THANKS JEN!!! You really rock. :-)

My waterfalls at the waterfall!

Finished just in time for the next package to arrive! I loved every minute of this pattern and it inspired me to visit our local waterfall. It's within walking distance of my apartment but I always seem to forget about it.

It's here!

Of course, I have the advantage of living only a couple of hours from Woolgirl! Once again, Jen has put together the classiest sock club shipment out there! Thanks Jen, for all your hard work on our behalf! I think everyone will love it!

The boxes are on their way!

The boxes are on their way! The international packages were shipped out earlier this week, and all US packages shipped out today, so some of you may even receive your packages tomorrow!

I wanted to announce the winners of the Miss Babs Color Inspiration contest....much thought went into choosing the winners...Miss Babs chose these winners herself and chose them based on how she felt the the colors would best be represented. Thank you to everyone who entered! We had some amazing contest entries. Here are the winners:

Winner #1: Angelina
Yarn Name: Cleopatra
Colors: black, , emerald green, light turquoise, gold, deep rose

Winner #2: Belinda
Yarn Name:
Pookie – Dark chocolate brown/cream/olive
Description: "I call him Pookie. My son’s eyes have always reminded me of the teddy bear that the comic strip/cartoon character
Garfield has so I have called my son Pookie from the day that he was born (not his real name!). When you look in my son’s eyes they are so dark brown (almost black) like a teddy bear, deep, deep brown, with no flecks of any other color, but they have a lightness to them that radiates from within like a creamy olive when the light catches them the right way. Quite spectacular, actually."

Winner #3: Carla
Yarn Name: Heartache
Description:
"I just read a book called "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell" and in that book there was a jewel box that the author described as "the color of heartache". I was so intrigued by this! I think "Heartache" would be a periwinkle blue-charcoal gray-lavender colorway, like rain falling on flowers..."

In your boxes you will find information on the next sock club contest! I look forward to receiving your entries!

Happy Knitting!

All Done!

I've never knit with this yarn before, and I'm really happy with how the socks turned out. So pretty and so comfortable to wear! Fun pattern to knit, too.

Wednesday, October 24, 2007

There was a plan to post progress shots

but, as many others have noted, these things practically knit themselves!

I was SO IMPRESSED with this yarn. Having a large sock yarn stash (okay, a sock yarn stash that will last for several years), I probably wouldn't have purchased this if not for the Woolgirl club.

Since these are for an unnamed Christmas person, this was a quick "modeled" shot in the natural light at my jobjob.

I can't wait for the next kit!

Monday, October 22, 2007

Mojo is back...and they're done!

I finally finished the socks, despite my pattern troubles (thanks, Jen)! Here they are:

Now I can start my "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" socks. I was so close to finishing the Waterfall socks that I wound the Halloween kit yarn last night!

Waterfall Marinissima

I decided to go against the current and used the Marina Piccola pattern for my Waterfall yarn.

52 stitches on 2.75mm needles, this striped beautifully on sock one but developed a bit of a pool on the foot of sock two. But I loved the yarn - so sproingy and squooshy and the colours are so vivid - yummy!

Thanks for introducing me to Miss Babs, Woolgirl!

And this is why you should never try to do a photo shoot with a cat around...

Monday, October 15, 2007

Ahhh... finally finished!

Beautiful socks, lovely yarn, truly enjoyable pattern...thanks Jen and Miss Babs!

In the dark . . .

When is the next club shipment? I can't remember.

Sunday, October 14, 2007

Finished!

I finished my Waterfall socks yesterday and I can't say enough about the yarn or the pattern! Everything was perfect and they worked up so quick!

Waterfall Socks

I've already ordered more Miss Babs sock yarn and I can't wait for the next club shipment! Thanks Jen!

Thursday, October 11, 2007

I love it but...

I love the waterfall pattern but no matter what end I cast-on with, it just isnt coming out very nicely with the lovely yarn! Too many pools for my taste so I am frogging and am going to try a different pattern, maybe even for a pair of fingerless gloves instead of socks. I love the chocolate mint lipgloss and so does the fiance. There is no "but" there!

Tuesday, October 9, 2007

1 down

2nd time's a charm!

I knit these with my favourite 2x2 rib, 6 pattern repeats on the leg with no st.st. portion and I had just enough yarn! I really love the swirly stripe on the sole. It's also on the ribbing, just not so obvious.

1 down, 1 to go!

Monday, October 8, 2007

Another pair done!

I finished them yesterday and wore them all day today! They're already in the wash! Chomping at the bit for the next shipment - fun fun. (Oh, and - Hurry! I already ordered my Valentine Sock Kit from Woolgirl - you better get one, too!)

These were such fun to make. Miss Babs has such wonderful yarn.

2 Circs?

Has anyone out there modified the pattern for 2 circs yet? I am a relatively new sock knitter, and I am a little afraid that I will mess things all up if I simply try to divide all the stitches by 2 instead of by 3 or 4 for dpns. If someone has already converted the pattern, will you tell me what you did? Thanks for you help! Cindy S-- knitsabouttime.blogspot.com

My new Favorite Socks!

I didn't do the lace pattern, only a simple 5x2 rib for the cuff. I love this yarn! I loved it soooo much that I went to buy the last 2 skeins of the Raspberry Cane colorway ;) I plan on making knee highs.... Thank you Miss Babs!

So Much Fun

Hot off the press!

Here they are - hot off the press! Waterfall socks complete! I love the colors! See my blog for how well they match my one pair of Keen sandals.....KnittingKris.

I used #3 Addi turbo needles, and completed the pattern using the Magic Loop method. I will try to post any changes/modifications that I did at a later date. I did knit the stockinette rows, and I did 4 lace repeats before knitting the heel flap. I had a tiny/small ball of yarn left over. But I definitely wasn't sweating about the yarn amount, or if I'd have enough or not! I have size 7 feet, but I knit my socks to 7 inches before starting the toe decreases (just more comfy for me). I won't talk about my gauge, because I can't remember what it was right now (I did measure it though), and the socks are not in front of me to measure. I was a little "under" gauge, but these socks would have been too big for me, if I would have stuck with the suggested gauge on the pattern!

PS - these are my first "lace" socks! :)

Pair of socks for my daughter

I am a bad sock club member...... I just could not get the pattern to work to fit me so my daughter has just said after about the 5th attempt... "Mom, Just make me a pair since it's not working out for you." So, that is what I did. These are a 1x1 rib for the cuff and 2x2 for the leg of the sock; after the gusset I went back to the 2x2 rib all around the foot so that they would not twist around her foot and then into the toe decreases. I love the yarn and love the way the socks feel on my hands and my daughter is also in love with them and doesn't want to take them off. But, she does because it's just to warm yet to wear them. I can't wait for the next shipment to see if I might just be able to get the next pattern to work. I do love all the finished socks pictures. So, in the meantime I will knit my yarn from chewy spaghetti's holiday sock club while I wait for shipment number 2.

these socks are so great

jen, salute to all you sock club sisters. this has been a great pattern to work with. it's on my favorite list now for other yarns. they are a dream to wear. i have two daughters that are not usually interested but they love these. i would give them away but i just can't. yet! i am so enjoying all the fun comments and pictures. can hardly wait to hear more fun stories. thank you jen so much. linda w.

Oh my goodness!! My club package arrived today - don't ask - Canada Post must have some knitting fans working at the border!

I can't believe how gorgeous this yarn is, and all the goodies too... I haven't been so excited about a sock club in a long while, thanks so much Jen.

I have finished all my "obligation" socks and this one is on the needles!

Attack of the kitten!

I am almost done with my second sock and yesterday almost proved fatal for it. Well, I left my sock in progress on my bed while I stepped away for a moment and when I got back the kitten (4 months old) was EATING!!! my yarn. She had chewed it clean off the sock and seperated it from the ball!! I was ready to KILL her but I fixed it. Almost done.

I love these socks! They were a fairly quick knit and I adore this yarn.

Squeezing in some knitting

I'm in the middle of a lot of obligation knitting right now, but as a reward for getting some other projects done I cast on. What a fun pattern and it feels good to see something knit up so fast. This sock is the knitting that keep sneaking in when I should be working on a baby sweater.

It's Here!

I am so excited that my first parcel arrived! Being in Canada, I expected it to take a couple of weeks, but found the wait very hard, while watching you all knit up this amazing yarn! Now, I can get busy on my own pair!

WOW! I swear, I may be the last person to get their box too! The mail was delayed because of poor weather but was it ever worth it. I love this colourway and the hand of the yarn is just perfect. I cant wait to try on my socks and am only about 1/4 the way into the first.

just in time...

stayed up late last night (last day of vacation) to finish the pair.... quite a bit of left over yarn.

I wanted to take a picture to reflect how much I love these socks....

Picture Day

I hadn't seen any pictures yet, so I thought I'd post one. This is such lovely wool to knit! I did not read the directions carefully and forgot to add the rows of stockinette, but like Jeanann said, I don't think I'll fold my cuff either.

This club ROCKS! Sign me up for the next one!!

I finished one!

I was so excited to get the first yarn club installment on the first day of my vacation (saturday) that I started the sock and abandoned all my other projects... and I just finished grafting the toe on the first sock!! It is so pretty, Jen! It probably would have taken me much longer if I'd been trying to fit it in around a real 'life' but on vacation... much easier! now I just have to get the second one done before I head back to home and responsibilities. I have size 10 feet and was worried that the sock might be too small, but I did a gauge swatch and made sure I was on the 5.5-6 st/in side of gauge and it worked out perfectly. probably the best fitting pair of socks I've made to date. (okay, so its only my third pair... like goldilocks, my first was too small, my second was too big... waterfall.. just right!)

Just An Idea

I was reading that some wanted to make the body of the sock longer (well at least I did). I decided to not do the 5 rows of stockingette and instead to do one more (4 total) lace pattern repeats. I dont think it changes the look of the sock to much and I think (in my opinion) it looks pretty good. I also am not a fan of folding the cuff over on my socks so I rather do a lace repeat than the stockingette anyway. I am hoping that I have enough yarn and I think I will but if not I will be calling you Jen to get some more! By no means do I mean to insult the designer of the sock by changing it up like this so please dont take it that way. I am loving how fast this sock is knitting up and the yarn is a dream to knit.
Another question: Does anyone think doing a short row heel would use less yarn than the suggested heel flap? I was thinking of doing a short row heel (just because I like the fit better)

Hello and Answers to Your Questions

Hi there everyone! I'm so happy to hear that most of you love the first sock club kit! I know there are a few of you who still have not received your kits, so I won't divulge too much information here. :)

A couple of questions I did want to address:

1) There should only be 3 pattern repeats on the cuff of the sock. On page 2 of the pattern, just below the lace sequence, the directions indicate to repeat rows 1-6 of the lace pattern 3 times. If you are following the pattern exactly, this is how many you should have. Sorry if this was unclear!

2) Someone asked if it's possible to increase the number of stitches by 5 to make the sock larger. Yes, this is possible; however, I am not sure how this is going to affect the amount of yarn you will need for each sock and it could be possible that you run out of yarn for your socks. If this is the case, let me know, as we do have some extra skeins available for purchase at a discount if needed. Also, if you do end up running short on yarn, post here. There may be some that end up with extra yarn that they may be willing to donate to you! :)

3) Another question - "If I want to make the cuff a tad longer, will I have enough yarn?" Answer: Yes, most likely. There is enough yarn included to knit probably one more pattern repeat into the cuff.

If you run across any other questions, please feel free to email me directly at jennifer@woolgirl.com or post here. I will try my best to answer your questions quickly!

I will be sending each of you an invite to the Woolgirl Sock Club Flickr group in the next day, so watch your emails for that! I can't wait to see your photos!

Oh, and remember to enter the Miss Babs Color Inspiration contest by emailing me at MissBabs@woolgirl.com. I am looking forward to your creative responses!

Happy Knitting!

You're the Best, Jen!

This is the best sock club I have joined to date--the amount of goodies you give us, Jen, is SO generous! And the yarn...oh, the yarn! What can I say, except thanks and can't wait for the next installment.

The first question....

first off, my sister and I are LOVING this sock club. I'm working on the cuff and have a question - is it intended to do 4 total repeats of lace pattern or 3? I know that there technically isn't a *right* answer, but I'm sort of a 'follow-the-pattern' sort of girl....
-jean

oh happy day!

It's here! My first-ever package from my first-ever sock club, and it's a complete HIT with yours truly. How fun, why didn't I ever do this before?

Woo Hoo!!!

I just got my package! I was so sad when mine didn't come on Friday, and I've been eagerly awaiting it's arrival. It was well worth the wait! What gorgeous colors. And wonderful goodies! Jen is so generous (Jenerous?)! This is my first sock club, and I think I will forever be spoiled from joining any others. No one could hold a candle to this package! I can't wait to cast on.... I'm also looking forward to seeing everyone's finished socks! I'm sure they'll be beautiful.

Question about making sock a bit larger

I was wondering if I can make the sock larger by increasing the stitches by 5 since the lace pattern is a 5 stitch pattern. So instead of 50 sts it would be 55 for the next size up? I am also using the magic loop so the K2tog isnt necessary for me to do (at least I dont think it is). Is there anyone else making theirs larger? Thanks.

Lovely

Got my package Friday, wonderful colorway, beautiful. The yarn is so soft and the pattern doesn't look that difficult. Thanks so much for meeting and exceeding my expectations!

*Swoon*

The only thing that made coming into work on a Saturday worth it is that my Woolgirl package was waiting for me. My heart is all aflutter . . . I told my husband that I love it so much that the Spring Woolgirl Sock Club might be the only thing I put on my Christmas list because I love it so much and can't imagine not continuing after this round. It is very clear that Jen went above and beyond to make this an amazing experience for all of us.

I bought new needles this morning and I'm ready to cast-on!

Is there any way to know when everyone has received their packages so we can start posting pictures of more than boxes?

I look forward to meeting everyone!

It came. I saw it. I fell in love!

I got my package yesterday, and it's wonderful. You did a marvelous job, Jen! Your attention to detail always amazes me! YEAH! I hope that you are all enjoying your packages, and I can't wait to see how the yarn knits up! Oh, my prepositions dangle precariously!
Thanks again Jen! For spoiler pics, visit my blog at KnittingKris, or DON'T, because if I didn't receive my package yet, I would want to be surprised! :) Or you can just pop over to say "Hi!"

Woolgirl socks, here I come! (No spoilers)

What a lovely treat to have my sock club package arrive today! I've lost my knitting mojo and have been looking to get it back, so when I saw the yarn and the pattern, I swatched and got gauge, and now I'm cooking! Just in the nick of time, Jen--thanks so much!

i'm a little slow, but hi!

I'm a bit slow techy-wise, so bare with me!

My name is Cece, and I'm totally stoked to be a part of Wool Girl's 1st sock club! Woohoo!
I'm a stay-at-home mom to 3 kiddos, and one of those crazy knitters with about a zillion projects in the works. You may know me as 'cecebiesanz' on other forums...

One of these days I'll hopefully get my blog up and running...
K, it's early and I haven't had any coffee, so this is it for now. (my brain hurts...)

OH DUH! I got my package yesterday day too! Super awesome first package--what a way to start the weekend. =o)

Checking in from San Francisco!

OK, let me say that I am also a member of the Rockin Sock Club 2007 (Socks that Rock) and know I'm spoiled, so I wasn't expecting my WoolGirl club to be anywhere close to the Rockin' Sock Club. Guess what? I am so impressed and absolutely LOVE my package! I have to say that this club certainly measures up to the RSC! (And that is a high bar of measure in my book!) I'm not putting one above the other since they are still two very different clubs, but I am thrilled to be participating another awesome sock club!

Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy! :)

Yipee! Wool Girl in So Cal

We just came back from seeing Yarn Harlot in Los Angeles! What an incredible day, Yarn Harlot and Wool Girl.

Jennifer, thank you so much.

I love wool!

Wow

The yarn, the pattern, the colour, the goodies - an all round wonderful package. Dear, sweet Wool Girl Jen, you have made so many people happy with one simply wrapped package. I can only imagine the joy the sock club is going to bring.

Its Heeeerrreee!!

Thanks so much Jen for a gorgeous colorway and all the cute surprises this kit contained. I was so happy to see this colorway because I need a little more of it in my life. No spoilers on my blog (because I am too lazy to take pics and everyone should have a surprise now and then). I am going to start knitting my sock as soon as I finish my little sky learning sock tonight. I cant wait!

It has Arrived! (no spoilers)

What a wonderful day in the neighborhood! I'm so happy! My "lovely" Woolgirl Sock Club arrived. Can everyone see the big ole smile on my face?

Jen, I love, love, love it.

Thank you for all your thoughtfulness.

Just in time...

The mail man came just a few minutes ago. My husband was getting ready to take the dogs for a walk when HE spotted the mailman. I wasn't really expecting mail until later. He runs outside and practically attacks the mail man. You'd think he was the one with the package coming! There must be something about boxes in the mail that excites everyone. I tore open the box and I was floored. Everything is fantastic! I'm so amazed at how many things were sent and the colors oh my goodness! Sooo pretty. The delivery came just in time for my birthday Monday so I'll be able to start casting on and working on a special pair of socks just for me :)

Just to introduce myself to everyone my name is Johnna, I'm in Southern California and on Monday I'll be 26. I'm married with 2 dogs and a cat. I'm still a "new" knitter, meaning that while I've picked up the needles occasionally over the last few years I never really made anything other than scarves until around May of this year. Since then I've taken on more and more complex and hard projects, I'm not one to turn away from a challenge. I'm really looking forward to all the shipments and taking this journey along with everyone here. If you're interested you can read my blog here

Yarn excitement

Did anyone else almost start squealing with delight? The box was on my porch when I came home from an extra long errand run. It sat there for another hour because I was so frazzled and wanted to sit down and enjoy the experience in the right frame of mind. And I was not disappointed, the colorway is gorgeous. I'm almost afraid to knit it up because it's so pretty. All the other "swag" is great and am I the only lame person who loves the tissue paper colors Jen uses? I'm going to count my tissue paper as swag. LOL

Thanks Jen! You did a great job and I'm really glad I signed up for the club.

One slightly crunched Box(no spoilers)

Ok got home from the Garden State Sheep and Fiber Festival a little before 1p this afternoon and didnt see a box on the porch, ok I say, will be here on Mon, about what I expected, no biggie. Carrying joey(my sweet napping 2 1/2 year old angel) opened the screen door, crunch/scuffle goes the cardboard across the LR floor. Excitement only expectin gone box really that shape, but gotta put Joey down in bed to finish the nap first.

Jen, you are the most wonderful person, you have the most wonderful taste and the contents are spectacular. Will post to my blog further details with spoilers.

I am so glad i signed up for this, Thank you Jen for letting me in when you did.

The Postman Only Had to Ring Once (No Spoilers)

I was rabidly waiting for the sock club shipment this morning - pacing back and forth and then to my front door to peer out the peephole at my empty porch. By the time the postman arrived and rang the doorbell, I might have actually been frothing at the mouth. In any case, he was spared any harm that might otherwise have come to him by the fact that he was carrying "the box".

I won't ruin anyone's surprise here, but I do want to say this: You will not be disappointed. Jen has outdone herself. I am very pleased with the yarn. I couldn't have done better if I had chosen it for myself. It's beautiful and goes perfectly with the pattern. One of my very favorite dyers is to thank for that, but I said "no spoilers" and I meant it.

Thanks, Jen. I'm very excited to start knitting. I knew if anyone could do a sock club right, it was you.

By the way, this is my first post here, I live in Kentucky with my husband and teen-aged daughter. Fall seems to be arriving, and I am thanking Zeus for that, because as the cold weather arrives, it may become easier to get my daughter to cover up her little butt. She's lovin' the short shorts. Me - not so much.

When I'm not knitting, which is not often, I'm reading about knitting or daydreaming about knitting.

Speaking of knitting, I have new yarn to sniff and new socks to start.

I'm gonna go start them now.

Happy knitting, Everyone!

Got mine!!

It's perfect for me!!! Like she dyed it just for me!! Yeah!!

Woolgirl on Ravelry

Yep, I just looked and there is a Woolgirl Sock Club group on Ravelry. It's right here. That should add to the fun!

Oh well

No woolgirl sock club box for me today, but... at least I got my shipment from WEBS! So I'm having an awesome night of knitting. Take a look www.whiteoakstudio.blogspot.com.

Hi everyone! I'm from NC and can't wait to cast on for our first club shipment! Maybe I'll get lucky tomorrow!

Jana

I just opened my box!

Wow! that was all I could say when I looked inside:) Jenn you are so generous and creative. I love it--I don't want to say too much since I know not everyone has gotten their package yet. I can't wait to start though. I was thinking last night that I wanted to start a project on those size needles;)
Deb (in Portland, Or)

Oh my!

My package arrived today, and I am overwhelmed. The colors are gorgeous, and all the goodies are fantastic. Thank you so much, Jen!

I am Lisa from Houston, Texas. It is safe to go to my blog--I got the package at work, so I haven't had time to post a photo. I've joined a couple of other sock clubs, and they do not hold a candle to Jen's wonderful package.

I've been a knitter for 8 years and have known how to knit socks for 4 or 5 years. The bug didn't hit me until this year when I discovered all the terrific indie dyers. Also, socks are much cooler knitting during the long, hot summer.

Sweet!!!!!!!!

I got mine and I really, really adore it! The yarn, pattern and goodies are first class! Thanks also, Jen for not waiting until the end of the month to send it out! That always drives me nuts! Yay for Woolgirl!

Friday!

Hi everyone! Some of you should be receiving your packages today, and I'm so excited! Please send me an email or post here if you receive your package, as I want to know your thoughts!

I wanted to let you know too, that I am away from my desk for most of the day today and all day tomorrow, so look forward to checking out all of your comments on Sunday!

Happy package opening! :)

Jen

Hello All!

Hi. My name is Allison, from St. Louis Missouri. I am super excited for this club. I am in a couple of others, but this is certainly the one I am most excited for. I am also on Raverly as legalgirl, though my camera has been broken so my projects are not up to date.

Hello!

Hello from Pennsylvania! I live in rural PA (HI to the Philly girl - my brother used to live in Telford, but he's defected to Bethel Park in Pitt). I'm excited to see my package from Jen! She does a great job at Woolgirl, and there are a lot of great yarns there. I'm hoping my package will arrive today or tomorrow! :) And Jen, I know you are all about the little extras that will make this a great sock club too! :)

I also started knitting socks about a year ago - maybe it's been longer. To Cindy - I only knit socks via Magic Loop. I use Addi Turbos - which are my fave needle by far. You can easily (well most of the time) convert regular sock patterns to Magic Loop or 2 Circs - if you need help, give a shout out. I do it all the time. I've also just ordered some shorter cables (12 ") from my LYS. I thought they would be neat to try. Usually my Magic Loop needles are 40" long (so I can knit two socks at the same time if I wish, although I haven't conquered that feat yet).

Well, welcome everyone. Hop on over to my blog if you want to see any of my WIP's or just listen to me ramble! Love to have you! KnittingKris

Maybe we should start a Woolgirl group on Ravelry - does anyone know if there is one started yet? Are you all on Ravelry? I haven't even touched the surface yet, but it is SO addicting. It will suck the knitting time out of you if you are not careful - because it is SO cool!

Hey Hey!

Hi! Seems like we're all saying a little something. Very excited about the sock club, it's my first one. I'm in Alaska, born and raised here. I have four beagles, a civil engineer husband and am attending graduate school for counseling psych, so I'm sure I'll have a lot of time to invest in knitting socks. Ha! I have hope and most of my cohort is interested in learning to knit, so I'm recruiting new knitters as well!

Can't wait for my box. I'm also doing secret pal 11 so I'm patiently awaiting for two surprise boxes. I'm THRILLED! I love surprises.

I'm Abigail in the sidebar by the way, I usually just go by Abbey. :) Ta!

how much fun is this.

OH SOOOOOO EXCITED

Hi all, I'm Pam K or you can find me on ralvery as inlovewithalpaca. I am a wife of 11 years to DH and mother to our three children ages 7,5 and 2. I just learned how to knit socks this past June and I must confess. I have aquired about 70 skeins of sock yarn since then. You'd think I wouldn't need anymore right???? I do have it in my stash on ralvery if anyone wants to check it out. wrong what a fibery addiction to have. I love this. I am excited to be in this wonderful sock club thanks Jen for having me. I just hope that I get mine tomarrow so I can fondle it before having to go to work for the weekend otherwise it will be Sunday Evening before getting a real chance to touch it.

Off to get children to bed so I can knit. Happy knitting.

Hi everyone!

I'm Leslie S. (I see there are a few Leslies. Hey there, Leslies!)

I'm aka Femiknitzi. I'll be talking about the woolgirl club on my blog there as well, for the benefit of other knitters not so lucky as we are.

But in here it's just us woolgirl girls...

I'm Ready!

Can't wait to get my parcel!

Sock Yarn Everywhere!!!

Hi,
I just did a contest on my blog to see how much sock yarn I have. Oh. My. Goodness. I should be banned by Woolgirl, but after last week they love me too much. I bragged on Jen in my post too!
I really do need just one more skein though. Can't wait for the new yarn.
I love you Woolgirl!!!

Hi from CT

Just wanted to drop a line and say hello to everyone at the Woolgirl Sock Club! My name is Jeanann (AKA CurlyBrunette) from CT. You can find my blog KNIT HAPPENS if you click on my name in the sidebar. I am itching to start some socks but I promised myself to wait until I get this yarn (thats never stopped me from having so many WIP's before! LOL) Good to meet all of you.

Packages are on their way!

The packages are on their way! Some were shipped yesterday, some shipped today, and some will ship tomorrow, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the majority of you receive your packages by Saturday at the latest. For a few of you, though, it could be Monday (or sometime next week for International addresses), depending on the postal system, so I ask that you not post any photos on this blog until mid-week next week. Feel free to post photos anyplace else or on your own blogs, though, and I can't wait to see your thoughts on this first kit! I will be checking your blogs over the weekend. The yarn in this kit is some of my absolute favorite yarn of all time, in my absolute favorite color combination and sock weight, so of course, I had to include this yarn in the first shipment! Our test knitters loved working with it too, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

A couple of notes about your packages:

1) Please let me know if, for some reason, you do not receive a package by mid-week next week. I hope there are not any postal mishaps, but you never know, so please email me at jennifer@woolgirl.com if you are missing a package.
2) If you feel that you need additional yarn for some reason, please send me an email. I do have a limited number of extra skeins available for a discounted purchase price for club members only, so please let me know if you need additional yarn.

I also wanted to make a note that I have been unable to respond to some of the comments left here on the blog (it's a blogger thing), so if you have a specific question about the blog, do not see your name listed on the sidebar, are having trouble downloading the button, or anything else at all, please do send me an email directly with your question, and I'll answer it as soon as I can. I have not been avoiding those of you who have questions...I am just having difficulty responding here on blogger.

I have really enjoyed reading your comments today! I love the photos too! You are all so wonderful and I'm so happy that you are a part of this first sock club! Enjoy your packages!

Jen

So excited!

This is my first sock club ever and I am so excited! That email that Jen sent with the contests and arrangements makes me stalk the mail plane and I am keeping my fingers crossed for good weather so the planes can come in anyway :) You can find me at knittingfisherDOTwordpressDOTcom (cause the link on the side under my name Tasha doesnt work yet)

Of Course Jen Does It 100%

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself and say WOW this is a GREAT Blog site. I love the artwork and colors. But hey, I wouldn't expect anything less from our Woolgirl. She is the greatest and she only does it 100%. I just wanted to give Jen a little shout out first for all she does to make her shop #1.

I'm Patty and I live in Indiana. I have the cutest cat named Jake. He's a tuxedo kitty and he's loved by his momma and daddy very much.

I have only knit socks for about a year and have become addicted to the darn things. I guess you could say I have become addicted to sock yarn and I have to create something with all this stash I have accumulated. I am bad on the stash part...really, really bad. My DH just gave me another lecture last night about I'll never knit all this yarn before I die..blah, blah, blah. He just doesn't understand.

Anyway, here I am waiting patiently for my Woolgirl Sock Club to arrive with all of you.

It's very nice to meet you. I'll talk to you later.

I'm Here! :-)

I was lucky to get into the Sock Club this year. So I am very excited! I love knitting socks and actually started knitting them to learn to read patterns as I have been knitting for years but in a very wing it kind of way. I see something and dupe it as best as I can. So needless to say the patterns were a bit daunting at first.

I live in NYC but originally from West Texas! I miss Texas but love the city as well. So my heart belongs to 2 places.

Those of you that are Veterans to the Sock club chime in and let us "Newbies" know about your previous experiences with this sock club. That would be great to hear!

Happy to be here and Knittin' Socks with Ya'll!

Introduction

Hi everyone!

I wanted to introduce myself, too. I am Cindy, in Houston, Texas. I began knitting a little over a year ago, and have been going non-stop ever since. I learned to knit socks for the first time in the Spring, on DPN's, and just couldn't get into it. Then someone turned me on to socks on 2 circs, and I've been knitting socks with a vengeance all summer. I can't buy enough sock yarn, especially those from Woolgirl! There are so many amazingly beautiful yarns out there for socks! I think I already have enough sock yarn in my stash to make a pair of socks for everyone in Houston!

I am so excited about the sock club. This is my first one, and I can't wait to get started! I have a question, Jen-- will patterns include instructions for 2 circs?

Cindy

Hello All!

I just wanted to say "Hi!". I am sure that everyone is so excited about the first sock club shipment. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which yarn is going to be included in this first package, or were we told that and I missed it? There are so many great dyers at Woolgirl that I couldn't begin to pick which one it would be! I need a new picture, which some sock yarn and not just my knitted shrug! My husband (pictured here with me and my son) is forever using our camera and I can never get my hands on it! My son loves knitted socks, but insists on wearing the ones that I made for myself and not the ones that I made for him! Luckily, I have small feet and we wear basically the same size sock as I like mine tight and he likes his loose. Anyway, I had better get back to work so I can afford more sock yarn! Have a great day everyone!

FYI- Check out my blog at: knitsomethingalready.blogspot.com
I am a first time blogger and I am having a wee little contest next week!

Hello Everyone!

Introductions seemed like a good place to start and are a lot more fun than working. :)
I'm Heather B over there in the sidebar and I'm living in the Philadelphia Suburbs. I've only completed two pairs of socks, but this has not stopped me from amassing large quanities of sock yarn. Right now it all lives in a drawer under my bed, which I like to paw through from time to time. Jen's store is one of my favorite places to shop so I think this sock club is going to be great fun. Now I'm going to cross my fingers and hope the package shows up Friday.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Woolgirl Sock Club! I'm so excited for each of you to receive your packages this week, so keep me posted on the blog as to when you receive them! Packages will be shipped out mid-week (as I am running a little bit behind on this first shipment), but most of you should receive your package by the end of the week! Thank you for your patience!

I created this blog so that those of you who would like to can post about your sock club shipments, including any questions or comments you might have for the group (or for me), and post photos of competed socks and socks in progress. I am also setting up a Flickr account where you will each be able to post photos of your completed socks and socks-in-progress. This will be important for the contests! Stay tuned here for more information in the following week.

Please feel free to email me at jennifer@woolgirl.com if you have any questions at all about the sock club shipments or the patterns (or anything else!). We tried to make sure that the patterns are error free, but thank you for your patience in realizing that we are also human and that patterns do occasionally have errors, so if you run into any, please don't hesitate to email me or post here. Also, feel free to snag the Woolgirl Sock Club button on the sidebar to use on your blogs! We are developing a few more fun ones in the next couple of weeks!

I have tried to include every one of your names in the sidebar, with a link to your blog (if you currently have one), so if you don't see your name there, or have a blog name change or addition, please just send me an email I'll change that as soon as I can!

I look forward to hearing from each of you and wish you each a wonderful sock club experience!

Happy Knitting!
Jen
