Holidays are great, especially when they give you lots of time to knit! I'm still benefiting from being young enough that my mother-in-law does all the cooking on Thanksgiving. The in-laws also have a pretty backyard with lots of trees to take sock pictures. They think I'm a bit crazy, but they don't tease me about it too much.
Here's sock number one progress on Sunday. I just kitchenered the toe on this sock today, but can't take a good picture in my dark apartment. The yarn stripped nicely around the leg but I had some pooling on the foot. My stitch gauge is a bit off which may have caused that. Still a very pretty sock. :)

Pattern Errata for the Nov. Sock Shippment?
Just wanted to post this here and I also posted it over at RAVELRY. Is there an error in the patten? I cant see doing the p3tog stich in the leg portion with out any increases to compensate for it. It seems the leg is going to get smaller as we knit in pattern down the leg, or maybe I am missing something with this? Is anyone else confused or is it just me?

Sock finds mate
Hooray a new pair of socks! I finally put down my Christmas knitting and finished the second sock in 2 days. Thanks Jen for introducing me to a new yarn that I really like. Woolgirl sock club shipment number two showed up on Monday. Opening that sock club box is like Christmas morning. The funny thing was that I thought the yarn was completely different colors, until today when I saw it in natural light. Much prettier in the sunshine than my super dark apartment. :)

OOOOOHHHHLAAALAAAA
OK, so that's a French phrase but I can't think of a better way to describe my feelings for this well thought out package. I love every bit of it from the color of the yarn, gauge and all the wonderful extras. Jen you are awsome and just becaue of this, I just had to join The Seven Deadly S(p)ins club that will start in March 2008. It doesn't get any better than this!!!! Or does it??????
Jen you have gone above and beyond and I thank you for it.

November package
Wow. That's all I can say about the colorway for the November yarn. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't name specifics. But I would never have combined these colors. Despite that, this could be my single favorite skein of yarn EVER!!! I want to frame it and stare at it all day. I cannot wait to get home from work and cast on.
THANKS JEN!!! You really rock. :-)

It's here!
Of course, I have the advantage of living only a couple of hours from Woolgirl! Once again, Jen has put together the classiest sock club shipment out there! Thanks Jen, for all your hard work on our behalf! I think everyone will love it!

The boxes are on their way!
The boxes are on their way! The international packages were shipped out earlier this week, and all US packages shipped out today, so some of you may even receive your packages tomorrow!
I wanted to announce the winners of the Miss Babs Color Inspiration contest....much thought went into choosing the winners...Miss Babs chose these winners herself and chose them based on how she felt the the colors would best be represented. Thank you to everyone who entered! We had some amazing contest entries. Here are the winners:
Winner #1: Angelina
Yarn Name: Cleopatra
Colors: black, , emerald green, light turquoise, gold, deep rose
Winner #2: Belinda
Yarn Name: Pookie – Dark chocolate brown/cream/olive
Description: "I call him Pookie. My son’s eyes have always reminded me of the teddy bear that the comic strip/cartoon character Garfield has so I have called my son Pookie from the day that he was born (not his real name!). When you look in my son’s eyes they are so dark brown (almost black) like a teddy bear, deep, deep brown, with no flecks of any other color, but they have a lightness to them that radiates from within like a creamy olive when the light catches them the right way. Quite spectacular, actually."
Winner #3: Carla
Yarn Name: Heartache
Description: "I just read a book called "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell" and in that book there was a jewel box that the author described as "the color of heartache". I was so intrigued by this! I think "Heartache" would be a periwinkle blue-charcoal gray-lavender colorway, like rain falling on flowers..."
In your boxes you will find information on the next sock club contest! I look forward to receiving your entries!
Happy Knitting!
Jen
