Tree Frog contest 2

There seems to be a lot of right answers for these depending on who did the research. :)

I have found that the greek word for Tree Frg is Hyla which means - belonging to the woods.

I have found that most tree frogs lay their eggs in clear jelly egg masses that are the size of a ping pong ball and are laid attached to floating sticks and plants.

and finally, The White-lipped Tree Frog is the world's largest Tree frog and can reach a length of over 13 centimeters (5 inches). Females are larger than males, and the males usually reach only 10 centimetres (4 inches).

Tree Frog Contest

The Greek word for Tree Frog is Skinos meaning quick and nimble. They lay their eggs on leaves that hang over pools of water, or in tree holes that hold water. That way when the eggs hatch, the babies fall right into water! They grow to be around 4" in length.

I am answering the questions for the Tree Frog contest - thanks, Andrea Santaga

1) tree frogs are members of the hylidae family, and hyla means tree or belonging to the forest

2) most lay their eggs in several small clusters attached to twigs and stems, above or underneath the water

3) Tree frogs can grow up to a little over 5-6 inches - Cuban tree frogs and Giant Tree Frogs being the largest species

Tree Frog Contest #2

1. Hyla means "to bark", they have a bark-like call.
2. In any body of water, sometimes in the water on leaves.
3. anywhere from 1/2 to 5 inches.

I have to do this before I lose the paper!
1. Hyla means to bark but I also found that the species name for the red eye tree frog is callidryas which is derived from the Greek for "Beautiful Tree Nymph" and thought that was so pretty I had to include it!
2. In water
3. more than 4 inches

Reina socks

I thought that I don't have time to knit these before the next package arrives. But thanks to football EM2008 these are now ready (time spent was three and a half matches).

Yarn (sport weight) was a pleasure to knit and the pattern easy to remember.
